What should Cambridgeshire projects plan for?
Plenty of Cambridge businesses are growing into space they already lease, so we often reconfigure existing partitions and add new rooms in the same project.
Offices in Cambridge range from first-floor suites above the high street to modern units on the edge of town, and the right partition system depends as much on the building as on the budget.
How much do acoustic glass partitions cost in Cambridgeshire?
The target Rw drives everything: higher ratings need thicker acoustic interlayers, wider cavities, sealed doors and often plenum barriers above the ceiling. Typical lead time: 3–6 weeks. Guide prices, supply and install — fixed after a free survey.
Why choose us in Cambridgeshire?
Work around your hours
Evening and weekend installation can be arranged for occupied Cambridge offices, keeping disruption to a minimum.
Safer if broken
Acoustic laminated glass holds together if it breaks, because the interlayer retains the fragments, adding containment as well as sound control.
Landlord-ready paperwork
Drawings, method statements and risk assessments are supplied for your landlord or managing agent's approval.
Light and privacy together
Acoustic laminate and double glazing keep the room bright and visible while stopping conversations from being understood outside, which solid walls cannot offer.
Acoustic glass is less a product than an outcome. You start with how private the room needs to be, then build the specification backwards: glass type, cavity, seals, door and the detail above the ceiling. A collaboration room might only need speech to be muffled, while a counselling room or HR office needs conversations to be unintelligible at the desk outside. We ask about the room's use and the background noise in the surrounding office, because steady background sound masks speech and changes the rating you actually need.
Key specifications
| Single glazed acoustic | 10.8mm or 12.8mm laminated with acoustic PVB interlayer, approx. Rw 38–40 dB (lab) |
|---|---|
| Double glazed acoustic | Two laminated panes with 50–100mm cavity, approx. Rw 45–52 dB (lab) |
| Seals | Continuous acoustic gaskets at head, base and walls; sealed vertical joints |
| Above-ceiling detail | Plenum barrier or full-height construction to limit flanking |
Surveys across Cambridgeshire
Survey visits across Cambridgeshire — including Cambridge, Cambridge and Peterborough — are free and carry no obligation. We measure, photograph and note services so the quote is accurate first time.
In England, partition works that affect fire safety or means of escape fall under the Building Regulations, so we flag anything that may need Building Control at survey stage.

Acoustic Glass Partitions in Cambridgeshire: FAQs
Can you work out of hours at our Cambridge office?
Yes. Evening and weekend installation can be arranged in Cambridge so the office keeps running. Out-of-hours working usually adds a percentage to the labour cost, which is shown clearly on the quote.
Do you cover areas near Cambridge?
Yes. As well as Cambridge we regularly cover Cambridge, Peterborough and Huntingdon, plus the rest of Cambridgeshire and East of England. Survey and installation teams are arranged regionally.
Why is on-site sound insulation lower than the lab rating?
Lab tests measure only the partition, mounted in a controlled test opening. In a real office, sound also passes over the wall through the ceiling void, under it through raised floors and around junctions. That flanking typically reduces on-site performance by several decibels, which is why our specification includes ceiling and junction details.
Is acoustic laminated glass better than toughened glass for sound?
Yes. A 12.8mm acoustic laminated panel typically achieves around Rw 38–40 dB in lab tests, compared with about Rw 32–35 dB for 10mm toughened. The sound-damping interlayer stops the glass ringing at certain frequencies. It also holds together if broken, which toughened glass does not.
Whether your Cambridge project is a single room or a whole floor, we will survey, design and install your acoustic glass partitions with one team.
